“Yeah, I mean my horse was A Serious Man . But it was a 13 seed playing Duke. We...”
– Carman, with a brilliant recap of this year’s Oscar nominations in a March Madness format. You know, just in case you’re really into sports and wanted to catch up on last year’s movies.

  1. Yes, I can fit a carton of milk in my car’s cup holder. 2. This recipe. (I lightly poured melted butter and sprinkled a bit of rosemary onto the pita chips before baking.)   3-4. Jake, Marie and I went to Ready to Learn this weekend. I worked with Fatima and built this UFO with her. Notice the Star Trek inspired neckline.   5-6. This overstarched beast is a new creation of mine. Baked...

I prefer Beauty and the Beast.
Alannah: What are you guys playing?
Kevin: Hottie and the Nottie, couples edition. You guys, Alannah and her boyfriend are the cutest couple in this office, IMO.

Julia's Child.
I was fed well on Caturday, so instead of the usual entrée I made crème caramel (flan); a Julia Child’s recipe. I especially loved the simplicity of its ingredients. And although I forgot to bake it in a hot water bath, (yikes!) it heated pretty evenly to my surprise. (See graph below.) NOTE: The (above) graph is scientific in looks alone; I extrapolated “data” based from my memories. Since I’m confined to numerical values to express my feelings, I...

TGIF: Study a Broad.
Diller Scofidio + Renfro finally unveiled their concept for the Broad and I automatically thought of Jeanne Gang’s “Aqua” in Chicago. I kind of like it. Located on the corner of 2nd and Grand in Downtown Los Angeles. The gallery’s opening points in the direction of the Disney Concert Hall. During yesterday’s presentation, Elizabeth Diller discussed how the...

She's a BRIC...House!
During the nineties and the aughts, the BRIC and Four Tiger countries were all the rage in the economic development department. It’s 2011 now and there’s an unlikely trendsetter in town — Sub-Saharan Africa. Source: The Economist IMF projects the growth in African countries to surpass that of Asian countries within the next five years. Angola is estimated to have a growth in...
